Bridger wins a Major!
Tezla wins the group in Texas!
Just when you are resigned to the fact she may be the "Cut Queen" on a circuit (she made the cut under Alvin Krause on Friday, but a Group 3 at the Texas Working Group show under Jan Sigler on Wednesday) she pulls off a GROUP 1! Charles Trotter awarded her the Group 1, at one of the biggest, most political shows of the year. (400 working dogs entered). Great job, Monica and Tezla!

New champions to report
Down in Ventura, Giselle, Glacier Creek's Wind in the Willows, achieved her championship from the bred-by class. What makes this especially noteworthy is that Giselle was in the hospital with parvo less than a year ago, not expected to make it. She has turned into a very sweet, elegant young girl. Nonami acheived her Grand Championship and she also had parvo a year ago. Her brother didn't make it so again this achievement is so heart warming. After all the scares and the warnings about vaccines, I was trying a more holistic approach with fewer puppy shots. I won't do that again! I must have picked up parvo on the tires of my van or coyotes brought it across my property since the pups hadn't been anywhere. Four came down with it, three lived. Who knows what Titan could have achieved? I am just happy I saved the ones I did and they are healthy, happy and seem to have no lasting effects. This is one tough breed!

Introducing Farrah, a party of one
If it's possible, Farrah has more mischeviousness and more energy than Tezla. You can see the pensive tilt to her head. So much time, so many problems to cause...Farrah is out of Ch. Glacier Creek's Whispering Wind, "Brenda" and Ch. Cezar Harcos Von De Viersenhoeve. Farrah was a single pup, so because we are so impressed with her type, soundness and attitude, we are going to try Cezar again with Brenda's little sister, Katrina, Ch. Glacier Creek's Catch the Spirit. Both Cezar and Katrina are pra-normal and Katrina has Excellent rated hips.

Tutti's prize
You know those indestructible little muffins they serve for continental breakfasts?
The hermetically sealed ones? I dropped one on the floor when I was cleaning out my travel bag, and Tutti grabbed it and carried it around like it was one of her babies. She never punctured the plastic but it ended up as flat as a pancake. I looked at her over in the semi dark corner and thought, wow, are her lips all swollen? and realized she had that muffin in her mouth. She kept nodding off and
would jerk up and give the other dogs the eye when they tried to sneak up on her. Pretty soon she was sound asleep. Then it was time to go outside for the last walk, she ran over to the door, stopped, then ran back to pick up that flattened muffin.

Welcome to My Blog
Welcome to my blog. The dogs have taken over my life, so why not a blog?
We are enjoying warmer weather, blue skies and not having to carry buckets of water in the morning. They no longer freeze overnight.
Can it be that 20 years have passed since the day Shiner came and lit up our lives with his wagging tail and twinkling eyes?
